I'm baaaaaaack!
OKokokokokokokokok. So its been a few weeks. I actually have just put off posting for so long that now when i think about it there is just way too much to report. Not that my life is that exciting, but I do like to pretend that you all care deeply about my take on every little aspect of my world.

So, wow. Angel's bday was a very long time ago. The end of the semester just seemed to be one shenanigan after another, as we had a slightly easier course load than normal and we were all trying to make the most of our time with Lee, who has now left for greeener pastures in.....Oklahoma? Yes, it seems another dear friend has been compelled to pick up and move to the "sooner state", and perhaps in good time I can actually find out what that means.
So here are some pictures of above mentioned shenanigans, including a playing hooky thursday cat trip (where I'm pretty sure I fractured my nose, but thats another story),
long lazy saturday beach days, many nights out at the ziggys, horseback riding on Nevis, countless delicious meals, etc etc.
So exhausting living here, I gotta say. The pics are of pretty much the same people over and over, which include Jenn & Maria (the mexican contingent), Renizzle, Angel, Lee, & Brooke and the soon-to-be Mrs. Brooke (actually she goes by Elizabeth...).
So then we had finals, and I must say I made a pretty good push given that I slacked off a bit this semester. Got the grades I deserved I think, and then flew on back to the City of Angels for the first time since I left for this desert island a year ago.
Immediately upon arrival, I was dragged (relative term) out on the town- we went to this restaurant/bar that a friend opened shortly after I left called Food Court LA. Dy, forever the entertainer, has taken to hosting a kareoke night there every other saturday, which in the past couple months has turned into a little LA "spot".
So of course being back with the LA family was wonderful. The break really flew by, and I apologize to those I didn't get a chance to talk to or see. Matt flew down for the middle weekend, and it was really great to spend some with him. Gabe, Sar, Matt and I picked up bocce balls and went down to malibu for some beach fun that Saturday, stopping at the Reel Inn for lunch. Twas fun.
Some other highlights from home: going to LACMA with Eric and Jillian, getting to see my SCAH (animal hosp.) people, finally catching up with Sara and getting to see her pics from Nepal, meeting Mark and spending time with Molly (Sar's new beau and Gabe's fiance),
driving down the PCH, spending some quality time with Schuyler, seeing the Estelle show & eating late night Benitos with Dy, my last night of debauchery at Food Court LA, and of course MANY delicious meals.
Many thanks to everyone who sacrificed their preferences so that I could taste all that LA has to offer - by the end I had eaten at Galanga, Doughboys, Zankou, Mei Lin, Merkato, Spanish Kitchen, Joeys, BCD, Benitos, Reel Inn, Bay Cities Deli, Ismi sushi, Iza-Kaya, and of course, a fabulous dinner at Gyu-Kaku just before heading to the airport.
Back on the island it was a quick immersion back into the culture here, as when I returned to airport customs the day after I got back to pick up my "misplaced" luggage, I was told by the nice security/customs man to "make it quick lady". Somehow I managed to avoid the late registration fee, and very quickly I was fully back in to the swing of classes. This semester it is Pathology II, Pharmacology II, Clinical Pathology, and two short courses on Epidemiology & Diseases of Poultry. They are all pretty decent so far.
Before finals I had moved into my shiny new apartment, which, other than the fact that it is located in St. Kitts, and so therefore I have donkey spiders & other creepy crawlies and no internet or cable set up yet, is an amazing little joint. The whole place is brand new, with a leather couch & recliner in the living room, a pool off the front porch which is very close to being done, and a fully stocked garden with all the fresh vegetables my heart desires. I did discover after moving in that I have no microwave and somehow my oven does not have a temperature gauge, which should make for an interesting learning experience.
I also have Brooke living two doors down, which makes the set-up feel ever so slightly like home. Here are some pictures of the place (they don't do it justice) -- and I will say that you all are crazy if you don't come visit! I now not only have a small transient goat herd, but also a sheep herd and horse "stables" right next to my place. And I've heard the definite sound of mooing some mornings. Who'd a thunk it, but I am starting to have the first flashes of the fact that I will miss this place when I leave. Well that is all for now. I'm sure I left some things out, but hopefully babbling about other stuff made up for it. Miss you all so much! Skype & AIM as usual (no more Vonage phone!) Love you!
